DVT Prevention

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a condition in which a blood clot forms in a vein deep inside a muscle in one’s body. Risk factors associated with this disease include: undergoing surgery lasting for over 4 hours, being pregnant, being overweight, or being inactive for long periods of time, in some cases due to travel via car or plane. The Cirona® DVT Prevention Therapy System is used to increase venous blood flow in patients that are at risk of developing DVT. This is accomplished through the use of compressed air sleeves that wrap around a patient’s leg, inflating and deflating in 60 second cycles. This mimics the body’s natural walking functions and may reduce a patient’s risk for developing DVT.

Aiding in DVT prevention, our Cirona® pumps provide effective therapy for post-operative patients, and help prevent dangerous blood clots before they form.

Our devices are easy to operate in a variety of patient care settings, including the hospital or the home.

With long lasting batteries, unilateral and bilateral treatment, and easy application and removal, our pumps provide a comfortable DVT prevention therapy option.
